Bad Girls All Star Battle is back! (Season 2)

Bad Girls All Star Battle is back! (Season 2)

The first episode of BGASB debuted last week with returning host, Ray J. There was a good mix of flunkies and fan favorites among the cast. In total, 16 girls came back from seasons 8 – 11, with the exception of Shelly from BGC 7. You may not have noticed her besides the tons of pounds she has put on!

Rocky came back from the first season of BGASB. She went home early due to the death of her father last year. She is definitely a favorite from season 10 of the Bad Girls Club. She was bullied along with BFF Shannon. Together the made “Shanrock” who for the first time in reunion history came back with a vengeance, attacking their bullies. Rocky made team captain last year before her departure. On the first episode she demonstrated she is a force to be reckoned with, winning title of “Team Captain” once again. I am elated that she is back. I loved her on her season. Also, if you have not heard, she is dating Zuly who was a past guest on BGC season 9. But, I am not one to gossip so you didn’t hear that from me!

Along with Rocky, Camilla won the captains challenge. She was also a fan favorite. Her cast attempted to bully her, but she definitely was not one to be bullied. If you have a chance, please go back and view her fights from season 8. You will not be disappointed! Camilla’s team is now the “Gold Team”. It didn’t take long for alliances to be made. Camilla’s; however, was full of losers. I guess she didn’t think about all those new girls coming back to bite her in the ass. The gold team lost the first challenge, sending the red team to the club to celebrate.  Amy (season 8) was up against Dani (season 8). The newbies outweighed the vets and the Victor twin Dani was sent packing. (FYI, Dani’s twin sister Gabi was not in attendance, as she was home getting ready to give birth). It is too soon to see who will take the season, but I’m gonna keep my money on Rocky!

By episode 2, the ladies realized “shit just got real”, so to speak. Alliances were whispered throughout the house, some known and some evident. I hope Camilla’s alliance with Elease (season 8) will help her. I doubt it since the new girls outweigh the earlier season vets. And the gold team made it very clear that Camilla and her  alliance were set to pack and go. Luckily for her, the red team was so stuck on “whose the baddest bitch”. There were just too many chefs in the kitchen. Ultimately, they lost and Sarah, who won the captains challenge this episode, announced the two girls up for elimination. Andrea (season 11) and once again, Paula (season 10, BGASB season 1). I say that because Paula has come to find her in the same situation as she was in last year. She has friends on the opposite team and they use her as a, she can stay or go girl. On one hand she’s strong enough to help the team but on the other, she plays both sides which makes her a threat.

The kicker is, Andrea just quits! I mean, really?! She was so hurt that she was up for elimination, she just could not handle it. So now the alliances come to play. Oh wait, so Paula thought she was saved and reality is the team has to pick another girl to go home. They all choose Elease (season 8). So will Paula’s alliance with Meghan (season 11)  or Elease’s alliance with Camilla be beneficial in the end? After dramatic speeches and even more music, Paula had to pack her bags and leave the competition. I cannot wait to tune in next week to see who will be the next bad girl to get stabbed in the back! How about you?!

Married to Medicine: Brawling in Ball Gowns

Married to Medicine: Brawling in Ball Gowns

Married to Medicine is yet another show set here in Atlanta and adds to the dramatic figures I live amongst and come across on a daily basis. One of the best reality TV show brawls I have seen was on Bravo’s new show, Married to Medicine. And believe me, I have been watching reality TV since the second season of MTV’s Real World, which began in 1993. One year after the very first season of reality TV to really “jump off”, so to speak. Back then, The Real World was a 30 minute show and on that ’93 casting in LA the world met Tami Roman for the first time. I remember her hot temper which began my obsession with drama on television. She definitely has not calmed too much over the years considering her new reality gig on VH1’s Basketball Wives.

Well this brawl in particular was one that was almost hard to watch because the atmosphere was not fit for a fight and had I not seen the previews before the show actually aired, I would not have been prepared for the event that was happening before my eyes! I mean, two women fighting in ball gowns was complete ridiculousness! And for it to last as long as it did was complete non-sense. I am usually juiced when it comes to two train wrecks fighting over nothing. This one still was so crazy! I kept playing it over in awe at the event that left me feeling embarrassed, confused, excited, surprised and bewildered all at once. Let us have a short recap before I “go in” on my very passionate point of view.

Mariah and Toya were not the best of friends on the show, but they had a mutual respect as doctors wives to have a speak and go relationship. They clearly have two completely differing personalities that almost seem like oil and water. So Mariah Huq is like the glue that holds the crew together. Each cast member knows Mariah in some aspect so the show was somewhat centered around her. She is also a producer on the show which proves she is not just a doctors wife. With that being said, Toya seems to be more like a follower. She likes to make a lot of comments downing the other women in a “confessional” aspect. She talks to her husband about moving to a new home to show others how successful they are. She comes off like a “show-off” and a typical household attempting to keep up with the “Jones’s”. Whether her husband can afford to or not, most logical families would not move in an effort to portray an image to irrelevant people that surround them. Buying a home should be a move you make because 1. you can afford to and 2. it is the home that makes you and your family comfortable. So Toya strikes me as inconsistent, inauthentic and insecure of her status as it compares to Mariah. And in fact, besides both of their backgrounds growing up in lower class neighborhoods, she really cannot compete with Mariah. There is NO comparison.

Unknown

Now, Toya was overheard doing what she does best, talking about one of the other ladies. Not only was she speaking negatively about Mariah, but she is so pathetic as to bring up the fact that Mariah’s 8 year old daughter is adopted by Mariah’s husband, Dr. Aydin Huq. Not only is this very low class of her, it is also none of her business to spread whatsoever. This conversation is what starts the ball rolling to the fight of the season. Mariah hears of this through her sister, Lake and her mother Lucy does not hold back her negative tone when it comes to addressing Toya at first sight.

Mariah and Kari Wells, wife of Dr. Duncan Wells, are both hosting a joint birthday party for their husbands who were both born in October. Each lady put in funds to pay the cost of the party; however, it is being held at Kari’s home. Once Mama Lucy sees Toya at this party, she addresses her. Not about the comments that Toya made concerning her granddaughter, but negative comments to Toya in general just so she is aware of her feelings toward Toya. Toya, like anyone, does not take too kindly to Lucy’s tone. Mistake number two is Toya’s reaction to Lucy’s comments. Not only does she feel like it is appropriate to address Mariah about this at her husband Dr Aydin’s birthday party, Toya approaches Mariah while she is entertaining other guests, cutting off the conversation Mariah was in the middle of. Playing respectful and being annoyed at the same time, Mariah walks off with Toya and lets her know that she is not to confront her about her mother, especially not at her husbands party. Toya gets defensive and begins to curse at Mariah then to add on, she begins almost pushing Mariah’s arm away from her. It does not stop there. Toya continues as she throws her glass at Mariah’s head and Mariah’s reaction is what we all expect, she swings her purse and pops Toya in the head with it.

Now that part was funny, but everyone including me was completely thrown off. Especially at a black-tie event. They were literally wearing ball gowns, five-inch heels and mink. Once the shock hit me I continued to watch mouth open for about five more minutes of the “ladies” pushing back and forth, trying to keep from falling into the pool next to them, until they topple over onto the outside furniture, breaking lamps and tables and falling to the ground. It is not until then that the guest reach them and attempt to break up the fight, which goes on and on because they are locked on each others heads pulling weave as hard as they can muster. Many try to step in unsuccessfully as they lock on to each other even more. Now I am thinking, OMG…this cannot go any further, and just as the thought leaves me, Mariah’s mother Lucy walks over and bashes Toya over the head with her purse, not even once…she continues until they eventually pull the girls apart. Now, I’m completely embarrassed for the husbands and their colleagues for their wives to have been displaying this type of behavior. I cannot lie though, I think Mariah was almost pushed against a wall of frustration and stated that very clearly, “First you talk about my child, then you approach me about my Mama, at my husbands birthday party?” Seriously Toya? Enough is enough!

The aftershock was also uncalled for. Kari, excuse me “holier than thou”, is very wrong for kicking out the second hostess of the party. She should have kicked out the guest no matter who started the fight. Not only that, the other women gather meetings to talk about how “wrong” Mariah is instead of calling her like real friends do to find out what actually occurred. Instead, they took Toya’s word for it, who was completely oblivious to the role she played in the fight. I would still be more kind to Toya if she took some responsibility for her actions. Instead, she lies to her husband, she burns her sons Christening outfit that was a gift given to him by Mariah and she comes up with schemes to get to the ladies first, pulling them to her side before they can hear the full story. She is a snake at heart and I cannot respect that. She proves how immature and ridiculous she really is.

I mean really, was it just me? What did you think about the brawl?

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: Season 2

LHipHop

Okay, Okay, I know I have been out of commission for quite some time now, but I am right on time for the most talked about, most viewed Atlanta train wreck; Love and Hip Hop! I say that with LOVE! 😉 As you all know I am a reality show junkie and although I have been away from my blog and getting my  “reality” together, I have been keeping up with all the seasons of your favorite VH1, Bravo, MTV, Oxygen, Style Network, etc… shows and will be updating you on my personal opinions of the most tragic and ratchett events to hit television. Anyway, enough about me, now back to our scheduled program!

Last night’s episode of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta was not completely shocking as we all know pretty much, what to expect since the first season. I will say that Mimi is off of her rocker these days. While last season we all felt sorry for her that she was played by her “baby daddy”, not only in life, but for millions of viewers to see; I am disappointed that she cannot see how beautiful and intelligent she is. She does not know her self worth. And once you give in to a guy for so long, he knows he can continue to do whatever he wants and you will still be in his corner for the most part. Stevie J is actually laughing at you and you are consistently crying over something he is clearly NOT going to change. Okay, I refuse to preach too much! I get it for the devils advocate who are out there and believe me I been there and done that so I GET IT… Still, it is becoming a little boring.

Now, Joseline is Joseline! She is the same and you can only respect a person who is exactly what they claim to be. She is definitely a train wreck, but she keeps it all the way REAL! She is all about her money by any means necessary! She is aware of her attributes and uses them to her advantage so she can get whatever she wants at any given time. Stevie J is exactly what and who he portrays. Joseline and Mimi have called him a pu$$y on the show and he laughs it off, but they all know where they stand with each other and they all know their own boundaries with each other. That is why Joseline is so bold to walk up in the house and piss off Mimi. Because Stevie will not say shit and Mimi will not do shit! That is the crazy threesome they have going on. And let us all face it… Mona Scott Young’s LHH series are a tad bit fabricated. While some beefs are real, they set-up a lot of the events to occur.

Now WTF is up with Momma Dee? Scrappy’s momma needs to have several seats! She is always in the mix giving her son the worst advice EVER! Thank GOD he is smart enough to ignore most of the ignorance that comes out of her mouth. Shay has found her way from the gutters of Milwaukee to make it onto another reality show and a second season, might I add! And I am from MKE so keep the comments about the city or your homie Shay to a minimum, please and thanks! Yes, I respect you trying to get your money up and stay relevant for as long as you possibly can; however, why do you want to chase a nigga who CLEARLY said in front of the ENTIRE world that he does not want you and proposed to the next lady? I mean seriously? You choose to make another fool out of yourself because his mama likes you? And Momma Dee to be exact? That is complete foolishness!

K Michelle did not have a big part of the show. I do feel her on Arianne though. I mean Arianne, if a nigga [male] is so insignificant that you can mention him on a radio show to all the listeners, then you should have been real enough to mention it to your so-called friend who you know was with him. You kept that a secret on purpose! Stop playing chile! I am excited to see what this season will bring. I will keep you posted on my thoughts and opinions so let me know what you think! Did you enjoy last night’s episode? Post a comment and follow my blog. I promise to keep you entertained!

XOXO!

Bad Girls Club Mexico: Season 9 Reunion Part 3

The last of the three part Bad Girls Club reunion started with a bang! Julie finally got her ass whooped. Erika really got it in. It was hilarious how the rest of the girls just sat by and watched. Erika literally pounded her head til there was no more! Julie needed that! I am sorry, but she deserved it. After all that talking about being so “bad” and her sad manipulations throughout the house, it was about time!

Watching Julie squirm in her seat was crazy! She kept trying to explain herself and why she was not a master manipulator. Which was incorrect. Rima was obviously a pancake fresh off the griddle. She was a sad hoe for pulling the tears out. She played so tough during the season, all throughout the show trying to flex her muscle in front of little ass Andrea, but no that Meghan is giving her a chance, all of a sudden she’s a little tear jerker. I mean seriously? The audience booing her was too funny!

Meghan finally addressed the broke Falen situation; although, I did want them to elaborate on how Julie became Falen’s personal “pocket-book”. So Falen claims she did not steal Meghan’s Marc Jacobs perfume and lotion, but she never said anything about the two pair of shoes she stole from Meghan. How sad is that! I want her to really get it. Both Falen and Julie. I am so sick of the non-sense about how they over what happened. If you ask me, and clearly you are 😉 they are just afraid of those fists flying in their faces. Well too bad! Here comes Meghan with the cranberry juice and instead of Rima, like it was originally brought for, Julie and Falen got a nice helping. On a good note, if either of them had a “UTI”…I’m sure it has been cleared up! (That’s an inside for my ladies! LOL)

After the juice left the bottle, Julie takes off to get at Meghan, but runs into a fist instead! And she hits the ground hard! Followed by a few punches to the dome. Yes, Meghan finally got it in. Then in true “real bad bitch” fashion, once the fight was over and Julie went to sit back down, Andrea gave her a nice helping of mustard to the dress, followed by fists to the dome and being dropped by Andrea. The girls finally feel redeemed. And so do I! So, that was a blast, until next season which will be held in Atlanta…My city! It’s about to go down!

Basketball Wives LA: Season 2

If you haven’t caught up on the new season of Basketball Wives LA…here’s a quick re-cap. The ladies forgave Jackie’s craziness, Jackie turned crazy on Draya over lunch, Jackie pretended to have a loving lunch date with Draya, Draya could not take the craziness from Jackie so she swung on her, after no connection they vowed to never be friends again. Gloria and Laura are having sister problems indirectly, they pretend to have gotten over them, Brooke, newbie of the show is friends with Draya. Malaysia’s friend Bambi, newbie attempting to be on the show, has problems with Brooke over some random guy. Jackie is in love with everyone again. Malaysia’s jewelry line and Draya’s swimsuit line are both popping! Now, back to our scheduled program…

Jackie and Doug bore the life out of me, but her crazy ass is entertaining. They are having another wedding this season in “tribute” of the gays? I do not understand how having a wedding can be attributed to the gay community, but I guess I will see. Draya made a great point, “why do gays want to see you get married when they are fighting to try and marry themselves?” Anyway, Jackie gets the rehearsal together. I must admit that I am a fan of their NoH8 painting. It looked very nice. During the rehearsal Malaysia addresses Jackie about snubbing her. Of course Jackie tells Malaysia how much she adores her. C’mon! Are we all not over the fakeness?

So what is up with Bambi? She just wants to check folks left and right. Was she really trying to call Laura out? I mean, some of Laura’s comments are annoying to me, mostly funny, but Bambi just seems like she wants some drama to pop off at all times. First with Brooke, who clearly stated she was not tripping on Bambi. She tried to keep it going until Draya told her to take it down a notch. Is the drama really worth it? Seriously! Now, the issue is with Laura? I think you just making up sh*t because Laura clearly kisses Bambi’s ass.

The wedding was a big party. Laura was hilarious dressed like a drag queen. The funniest point of the party was when they told Jackie that Draya was in the building. Her face about fell to the floor! She seemed a little scared to me too. Speaking of, what was with Laura telling Jackie to whoop Draya’s ass last week? I like that Laura is straight up with Jackie about being crazy, but if she claims to be Draya’s friend, why would she try to throw a fight out to crazy Jackie on the low? That is what we call food for thought.

I love Brooke. She has a real conversation with Jackie about Draya. I like how she put Jackie in her place. If you fuck with Draya, she is my friend. She said she would not jump in the fight and hit either of them, but at the end of the day, Draya is her homie. Then Brooke speaks a little on the case of Bambi. It is funny because when Brooke explains it, she says that her and Bambi have tried to squash this “so-called beef” before, but when that happened, Bambi was talking a little buck. Brooke decided they would never be friends so she blocked her from social media because she did not want her in her personal business. (As we all do). When Bambi explains it, she talks like that are so many problems, but then says Brooke’s man bought her all kinds of gifts. If that is the case, why is she still so angry at Brooke. That sounds like a reason Brooke should be mad, not Bambi. As I stated before, Bambi is about that DRAMA!

What is going to be good is next week. Brooke looks like she is about to get all into Jackie ass! And it is about damn time because I feel like Jackie will not stop until someone stops her! The pool party should be pretty interesting. And who does not want to see Brooke in a swimsuit? I mean really?! Stay tuned…

Bad Girls Club Mexico: Season 9 Finale

Finally, after countless ass whoopings and countless “lesbo” hookups, we have come to the end of the Bad Girls Club Mexico. First off, what is this relationship with Julie and Falen? Side note: I have no problem with gay or lesbian couples, but I do have a problem with women who pretend to be in love because they are bored with their lives at BGC and cannot find guys to pounce on them after the club. They talked all that sh*t about Zuly being a lesbian and expressing herself, but when it all comes down to it, they are “sneak loving” on eachother. I think Falen just got used to Julie paying her way. She never has an opinion to stand on and she follows behind Julie like a little puppet.

Now that the final ladies are in the house, I must say that I am very disappointed. These girls are weak. They have proven to be followers since the beginning of the show and every one of them have been a follower at one point or another. Zuly may be a little different because she minds her own business, but at the same time, I cannot respect her point of view because she does not give her honest opinion. She is just trying not to be a target to the rest of the girls. What she fails to realize is that none of the girls in the house would ever approach the “man” of the house in the same manner they approached the rest of the girls who never picked a side. They were all scared of Zuly at the end of the day. And she could have beat any of their asses. Zuly was fake for being a friend to Andrea behind closed doors and the group was fake because they never called her out on it.

Okay, so the best part of the season is approaching. All the ladies who left BGC on well respected notes are back to whoop some ass! And they were all the “BAD BITCHES” anyway. I was not a big fan of Erika, but I do think she will beat a girl down. This is so funny because the ladies feel on top of the world having their photo shoot. Surprise BITCHES!!!! Notice Meghans eyes during the shoot. Pure intensity while the ladies are all silent. Of course on camera confessionals they are all talking shit, but sooo quiet now. Meghan begins to address her issues with all the women. She is “THE REALIST N*GGA” (in my 50 cent voice). 🙂 What I loved the most about the 4 “gangsta boo’s” being there and bascially “checking” all the girls, they made it very clear that no one was to jump in a fight. Now that’s GANGSTA!

Fight number 1… Meghan(The Realist N*gga) VS. Blondie (The Pussycat). I think the fight was just. Some of the ladies said that Meghan should not have fought Blondie, but she was acting tough once Meghan left the house. She claimed all that fighting was juvenile until the smallest female in the house was being attacked. Then she decided to jump on the band wagon and help jump Andrea. Meghan felt that was disrespectful, as I did, and Blondie got what she deserved. Then she cried that she did not feel like fighting at that moment. Did she have the courtesy to see if Andrea felt like fighting? Absolutley not! I used to like Blondie until she became apart of the gang instead of standing up for herself and her beliefs like she once did.

Fight number 2… Erika (Lucci Vee) VS. Rima (The Slore). So Erika addresses Rima once again, “Rima’s being a punk ass bitch as usual!”. Initially when these two were beefing at the beginning of the season, I was team Rima; however, now that Rima thinks she is big man on campus, I would love to see her stand up for herself against Erika. So, Erika steps to Rima and is all in her face talking smack. No one says anything. Not even Rima. She sits and takes it as Erika dances in her face. The best part is the editors adding in the disco lights and disco music. HAHAHA! Hilarious! Okay, so they did not fight because Rima would not even look at Erika, but they succeeded in entertaining me for the moment.

Fight number 3… Christina (The Peoples Champ) VS. Falen (The Follower). Okay, so we all know where I stand on Falen, right? If you have not followed my previous blogs, she is an instigator, a follower, a pushover and just an all around loser with fried hair. I truly dislike her. She talks “the most” behind closed doors. Now that everyone is back, silence! So Christina pushes up on Falen until she falls into Rima. Rima tries to catch her and then Falen throws the attention and anger off on Rima, telling Rima not to “f*cking” touch her. Ummm, excuse me Falen, if she had not caught you, your face would be in those pillows! Now Falen gets gangsta on Rima and all the Vets laugh. She goes back in for Christina and gets body slammed on the concrete. Julie jumps up to save her Boo, but Meghan runs up and tells Julie she was going to whoop her ass if she jumped in. Julie sits her “$5 ass down”, before Meghan made change! Christina went in for the kill, but in typically “girl” fashion, Falen pulls Christina’s hair so they were not in a position to box it out. Security broke up the fight and kicked the rest of the ladies out before they caused more problems for the new, “SAD GIRLS”!

The newbie (cannot remember that poor girls name), asks why the girls did not fight back. They came up with some bull instead of saying they are cowards. Later, the ladies go, get drunk, blah blah. Rima comes home and trashes Andrea’s picture…why she did not do that or say anything Andrea when she was there is beyond me. Fake ass girls! So they all pack, they all cry…THE END. I enjoyed the last show for that brief visit of the BAD GIRLS (which I rewinded over and over), but it always ends the same. *Photos courtesy of Oxygen

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta: Sh!t Done Hit the Fan…Again!

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta: Sh!t Done Hit the Fan...Again!

This weeks episode began where it left off. A punch to Stevie’s face. Joseline was heated when she found out that Stevie J and Mimi live together. Stevie J is whack anyway. Why does he keep playing the role like he does not mess with Joseline, but everytime he hears her name, he has this goofy ass smile on his face? Joseline comes clean and admits that her mother was never there for either. She left home at a young age, 13. Sounds fimiliar within this entire disfunctional relationship. All three of them had a mother who neglected them. They need to learn from this. Not continue to live, seeking love from the wrong people.

Erica and Scrappy meet up to discuss the “Shay” situation. He keeps playing the role that Shay is his best friend when really he has been bending this hoe over all through Atlanta. I am glad that K Michele kept it real with Erica. She needs to know that Scrappy is trying to play her on television. Scrappy needs to cut off the lies and stop the non-sense. He continues to pretend that he is not sleeping with Shay. BS!

Later, Scrappy meets up to see his mother, Momma Dee, to get more BAD ADVICE! She has the worst advice ever. I did appreciate Scrappy for telling her not to call his baby mama, Erica, a bitch! Then Momma Dee comes to her confessional and re-calls Erica a “B-I-C-T-H…and in that order!” Ummmm…sorry Scrappy mama, not in that order. Bitch is spelled B-I-T-C-H! Yikes!

After Joseline’s visit, Benzino takes his boo, Karlie on a date. She starts to go in about her career again. Benzino admits that he is sick of hearing about her career. Ummm, sorry Benzino, the reason she keeps talking about her career is because that is what she dates you for. So that you can further her career, the one she has not been able to further the first 40 years of her life. And Karlie Redd, what is up with that fake ass relationship with Joseline? Hoes always connect at a man house when they are getting fucked over together. Then they have someone to compare notes with.

Rasheeda won me back over for a second by passing up on the “Deb situation” with Mizay Entertainment. She was wrong as hell for going behind her man/manager back to let a snake like Mizay tell her man Kirk off. Although, I am happy she wants to renew her vowels with her husband. He is the best hubby of 2012 reality shows! 🙂 After Rasheeda won me back over (who can hate on such a pretty face and “sweet” personality), she goes and disrespects my homie, K Michele.

Benzino goes and calls Mimi, Joseline! WTF! Mimi was annoyed, but she expects that because deep down she really knows that Joseline plays such a big role in Stevie J’s life. Well, one thing everyone agrees on is that they all three need to have a sit down again to discuss, as adults, what role each of them play in eachother’s lives. Although, we all know, they need to come to terms with the man they are each dealing with and decide if they will agree to go along with what he dishes or stand up and be accountable for what they let Stevie J do to them.

K Michele speaks out at during an organization about Domestic Violence. Rasheeda should mind her business and never doubt a “friend” who says that she is being abused. Domestic Violence is a very serious crime. People do not throw that around lightly, in fact most women who are victims of domestic violence hide the fact that they are actually victims. Women like to be viewed as strong. Especially a woman like K Michele. She now proves how strong she is by cursing out everyone in sight. I love her and I am happy she came out to tell her story. Sorry Rasheeda that you are friends with Toya “Carter” Wright and Memphitz. By the way, K Michele has never officially said her abusers name. We all just know who she is speaking of. And what is he suppose to say, that he did beat her and he is an asshole? Violent offenders do not really go around saying that is who they are.

I cannot wait to see where this show is going and when it will end.

Update: Chad Johnson dropped by the Miami Dolphins!

Chad Johnson dropped by the Miami Dolphins!

After being released from jail on a $2,500 bond, Chad Johnson was released from a Florida jail. His charge was for simple battery after he head-butted his wife, Evelyn “Lozada” Johnson during an argument over a receipt for a box of condoms.

The team posted a one-sentence item on its website saying, “The Miami Dolphins terminated the contract of WR Chad Johnson, the team announced today.” Johnson (34) was entering his 12th seasonin the NFL. He was trying to make the Dolphins after a disappointing 11th season with the New England Patriots.

Police say that wife Ev had a 3 inch laceration on her forehead. If convicted of misdemeanor simple domestic battery, Chad faces a maximum penalty of 1 year in jail or a $1000 fine. Potentially, domestic violence courses and anger management classes will follow. This is Johnson’s first arrest since turning pro 12 years ago; although, he was arrested in college for a domestic dispute.

Chad stars in the HBO reality series, “Hard Knocks” and alongside with his wife Ev on the VH1 hit reality show, “Basketball Wives”. Their new show entitled, “Ev and Ocho” is scheduled to aire in September on VH1.

I wonder if the show will change the name since Chad re-changed his lastname to Johnson to appease his new wife Ev. I am happy that the NFL decided to step up and be responsible for the actions of their team player, but one can argue that he was going to be dropped anyway because if his recent poor performance in the league. Especially, when past players have done more than a head-butt to their wives and the NFL allegedly covers some domestic violence cases of up. Really, Chad’s antics in the spotlight have to be taken serious once he has given them a reason to be dropped. Too many people have an eye on this high profile couple. What are your thoughts?

Hollywood Exes: Let The Drama Begin

So I have been getting several emails asking about VH1’s reality television series, Hollywood Exes. Although I am an absolute fan of the show, I was somewhat reluctant to post about it. In part, because the show is so positive and successful, that the “problems” that arise in the ladies lives are so minimal to the average viewer. Nonetheless, I should have posted something on this show considering the humble, warm, real personas that were cast on the show. In addition, the women each having differing ethnic backgrounds. The show was deemed boring to some viewers because there is no drama; however, it is refreshing to have a show that glimpses into the lives of women who put family first, are “drama free” and business oriented.

This series introduces us to the ex-wives of some very high profile men. What intrigues viewers is that the women were not picked from the sidelines as “D” list ex-girlfriends, ex-hookups and “I once met his mama” types. While we all have a story, it is nice to see how entertaining a reality show can be while respecting the cast as well as their exes. I love it!

Andrea Kelly is the ex-wife of R&B legend, R. Kelly. She is a hilarious and humble at the same damn time and makes for  an interesting character on the show. She was an ex-dancer (professional) on his tours. They now have children together in Chicago, but on the show, Andrea shows her move from Chicago to LA. VH1 depicts her challenges adjusting to a new community and new friends.

Sheree Fletcher is the ex-wife of Will Smith. They have an older son together that resides with Will and his current wife Jada Pinkett. I think it is safe to say that Will definitely has a type, as Sheree and Jada resemble eachother. And Will’s child with Sheree seems to have the same mother and father as Jada’s children (although we know otherwise). Sheree is currently married to a pastor who lives miles away from her in another city of California. A four hour drive each way, Sheree struggles to balance the distance between her son and her husband.

Jessica Conseco is the ex-wife of former baseball player, Jose Conseco. They have a fifteen year old daughter who they are raising seperately. Jessica manages to do a great job while Jose is off galavanting. Nicole Murphy is the ex-wife of actor Eddie Murphy. She is a former model and absolutely stunning. She is a successful business woman who currently has a jewelry line that she debuts to the ladies on the show.

Lastly, Mayte Garcia is the ex-wife of legendary performer “Prince” A.K.A., The Artist Formerly Known As… She seems to be in love with Prince; although, it has been ten years since their divorce. She was also a back-up dancer (professional) for Prince before their marriage. Mayte and Andrea seem to have the most in common and they seem to be a genuine duo on the reality television show.

Okay, so I spoke too soon. In the latest episode, Jessica Conseco proved to be a bit of a hypocrite. She went in [negatively] on the ladies about their choice to eat meat. She claimed not to kill any living thing that had a mommy and daddy. She went even further by telling the ladies that if they decided to eat certain meats at dinner with her, she would not talk to them for the remainder of the night. The ladies came to an agreement on what could be ordered in her presence, in an effort to respect her views. I cannot say she did the same for Sheree Fletcher.

Jessica called Sheree a hypocrite for eating meat despite Sheree’s religion. Sheree pointed out that the bible in no way stated  she was not allowed to eat me. Once they went to dinner, the ladies were stunned as Jessica ordered crab cakes. And here they were altering their dinner around her. Now, who is the real hypocrite? Other personal issues came up in the conversation, but I suggest you take a look at episode seven to distinguish whose side you are on. My personal opinion is that people should not judge. And that is my two scents. Check out Hollywood Exes on VH1.

The Reality of Reality TV

Today I ran across an article on Yahoo.com noting one of the many problems with reality tv. Do not get me wrong, I am a fanatic of reality television and will continue to watch and chronicle the characters lives; however, viewers need to realize that life is not as glamorous as it may seem to the average joe. Click on the link to check out some of the major players of the reality television world (arguable) during their own times. “Jon Gosselin, Speidi, and other reality television stars who went from starring in primetime to being penniless.” — Suzy Byrne, Yahoo!
